RV renovation: Day 1
I actually can't believe how much we accomplished in 1 week! But, I'm going to take you in days...at least to start. We'll see what happens. For the sake of the bigger picture, let me back up. Because this is such a big undertaking. There was a lot of discussion about the how's, when's & if's! At one point I thought we were starting the project the next weekend & Mike thought next year. HA!
We were so uncertain how to tackle the project, that we drove over to Sherwin Williams 3 times for tips & opinions.. From the renovations I was finding, we had decided to go for a total makeover and right away....But, do we go for inside or outside first?
Goal for OUTSIDE:
- Re-seal roof (DONE!)
- Scrub fiberglass body (DONE!)
- Repaint & funk-ify the body. OMG that's for next year. You're gonna die!
Goal for INSIDE:
- Paint on walls & cabinets
- Fabrics/Upholstery
- Flooring
Here we go!
Take everything out, like everything. Tape it & prime. Check it out.
We started by taking out all of the cabinet fronts & flooring...
Here's where the swivel chair was too. You have to take everything out for painting & the new floors.
At this point I also had to scuff sand the whole inside to give the primer something to adhere to.
Primer! Crap, I'm committed now. This is about as close to a panic attack as I've had. I gave myself a serious, out loud pep-talk just before diving in. As boring as it is for me (I just wanna paint! WAH!!!) Gotta keep taping & taking things out.Wow - this is really coming along. This is all day 1! Everything is primed. Next up - color!
